Is BTS a Good Influence to Your Children? What Parents Need to Know!

BTS
is the most sensational KPOP group at present, and it is undeniable how these craze even children smite everybody. Honestly, I did not know about this group until my husband and my son who is a four-year old kid, got so addicted to watching their music videos and dancing to it.  As a parent, of course I need to know what my son is watching and see if they are a good influence or not.

Remember the days when boy bands were so popular like N’SYNC, Backstreet Boys, Westlife, Moffats, and One Direction? Well, I was one of their fans too but I was already in high school when I started singing and following them. But the BTS charisma is different. BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan or Bulletproof Boy scouts in English. People from all walks of life, people of different ages all love their music. There are seven members of this boy band namely Jin, J-Hope, RM, Suga, V., Jimin and Jungkook.  They are all Korean and their music is KPOP. Their music is a mix of Korean and English and their fans are called BTS Army.

Their story of how they began is very inspiring. It was not an easy stardom for them. They all had undergo the tedious rehearsals, strict diet, and other K-Pop sacrifices they have to experience before they started gain the attention of their fans. Now, all their songs are a hit and have billions of views in YouTube.

Nowadays, whatever they promote is absolutely loved by their fans. The people who like them are following their fashion and they are always waiting for whatever they wear in their music videos. They always exude their charm in their performances and they have a unique sense of style that makes them distinct from other Western boy bands. That is why even children love it when their parents dress them up like BTS. The colors of their style are not difficult to follow, in fact in their videos like Dynamite and Butter, the color palette of their clothes is pastel.

If you look at the projects of BTS, as a parent, it is good to know that they are very active in helping charity programs like UNICEF. That means that they have a good heart and really a good influence to their fans.  They have supported UNICEF’s Program to end violence and their education program for the less fortunate. In addition, they also participated in raising money for the Food Bank in Singapore and even raised money to help the wildfire in Gangwon, South Korea.

BTS has maintained a wholesome image so that they can reach out to their fan from different ages. In fact, some of their videos are animated like the TinyTan, which is a personal favorite of my son. They really consider the wide range of viewership and fandom and therefore they are incredibly careful with their image.

In one interview made by Koreaboo, children were asked about the members of KPOP and they think the BTS would make a good president. Their answers are based on the kindness of the boy band and how they look. It is very nice to see that even children are able to consider kindness as one of the traits that a leader should have.

Due to global popularity, the group has now made English songs that made them become more loved because they consider their fans that come from different parts of the world. Clearly, they possess considerate hearts because they know that not everybody understands their language, so they made English song to be able to reach out to everyone. However, even though they sing English songs now, you can still see how patriotic they are with their nationality. They still highly promote their country and always credit their country and fans that they believe are the ones who initially supported them and made them popular before they became known overseas.

It is important that we as parents know what our children are following. We always want to make sure that they will be a good influence to our children or teenagers. Everyone undeniably loves BTS; even by parents, that is why it is good that parents and children bonding have becoming stronger because of this boy band.
